Clover has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Plant Engineer at its Gqeberha plant. The primary role will be to manage the engineering and maintenance departments to deliver an effective engineering service to manufacturing and ensure continuous improvement.
Requirements
• GCC: Factories or equivalent qualification
• Relevant Degree (NQF level 7)
• Business English: Fluent
• Code 08 Driver’s license
• Computer literacy (Advanced)
• Relevant experience in applying job related concepts, techniques and processes at the required level
• People management experience

Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the total Engineering function at a branch
• Ensure that PPSST’s are effectively managed (Maintenance, Mechanical & Process Control functions)
• Organise, develop and complete execution of the normal and major maintenance
• Develop the Engineering discipline according to Production’s strategies and PPSST’s.
• Ensure the optimal functioning of the modification control process and HAZOP studies
• Improve and optimise plant productivity
• Ensure availability and predictability of plant with a constant focus on continuous improvement in cost and efficiency.
• Ensure the safe operation of all plant and equipment on the site. (GMR2)
Manage staff
• Set performance targets and manage performance
• Develop team strength (competencies) and ensure adequate succession planning
• Manage the various reporting functions
• Train and act as coach for the Engineering department
• Acts as master coach for the Clover Way Better teams
Manage costs
• Manage fixed costs, capital and maintenance expenditure within budget
• Monitor total energy and services bill with a view to improving efficiencies
Participate in project management
• Assist with the development of technical standards (design; applications; drawings; specifications; process control and new technology).
• Oversee the execution of projects
