We are searching for a hands-on, people-focused Restaurant Manager to take full ownership of the in-store operation and lead from the front.

Purpose of the position
As the Restaurant Manager, you’ll oversee stock, staff, systems, service, and sales — ensuring the team performs at its best and that every touchpoint delivers on
the Blacksteer’s promise: quality, consistency, and vibe.
Key responsibilities
Operational & Administrative Management
• Conduct full daily stock counts and manage par levels through effective ordering and supplier coordination.
• Ensure accurate invoice capturing and adherence to internal reporting processes.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports, including turnover, wastage, cash-ups, banking, and KPI tracking.
Team leadership and people management
• Lead by example — set expectations and maintain discipline through NWK’s policies and procedures.
• Cultivate a team culture centred on ownership, respect, service, and performance.
Customer flow and service experience
• Monitor and direct customer flow to maintain high service speed and consistent presentation.
• Engage customers with confidence — balancing hospitality with operational oversight.
• Maintain a store atmosphere that reflects Blacksteer’s vibrant and welcoming identity.
Store standards, compliance and presentation
• Ensure hygiene, food safety, and quality protocols are followed at all times.
• Oversee equipment functionality, cleanliness, and compliance with company procedures.
• Monitor cash movement (floats, tips, deposits) with strict accuracy.
Planning and execution
• Maintain a proactive store diary to plan for peak periods, public holidays, and special events.
• Continuously assess performance data to identify areas of improvement and growth opportunities.
Minimum requirements:
• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans (both verbal and written).
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• 2-3 Year’s proven experience in food service, hospitality or retail management.
The ideal candidate:
• Has excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Has a strong customer service orientation and takes pride in personal hygiene and presentation.

• Understands food hygiene, service quality, and operational efficiency.
