Objectives<br \/>\nPeople Management<\/p>\n<p>Conduct daily planning meetings with managers and controllers in line with regional manager\u2019s operational requirements, in order to allocate tasks to responsible staff<br \/>\nMonitor and facilitate branch managers\u2019 and controllers\u2019 performance to consistently meet or exceed operational, sales and cost saving targets and productivity standards within their areas of responsibility<br \/>\nLead, motivate, coach and enable direct reports to meet profitability and customer service standards<br \/>\n\u2022 Train and develop direct reports according to the core competencies of their roles and ensure co-ordination of training and the delivery thereof is done in a professional manner<br \/>\nIdentify and develop high potential staff for succession planning purposes<br \/>\nPerformance of staff meets minimum operational KPI requirements at all times as a result of ongoing coaching and performance feedback<br \/>\nHuman resources processes adhere to corporate policies and procedures and labour legislation<br \/>\nCorrectly manage and respond to all disciplinary issues and grievances, when required, in a timely manner<br \/>\nBranch Profit Maximisation<\/p>\n<p>Plan, implement and monitor regional manager\u2019s operational requirements at branch level<br \/>\nConsistently achieve or exceed regional objectives and targets<br \/>\nManage, monitor and facilitate efficient branch operations and sales performance for ensuring consistent profit maximisation (i.e. non-expenses \/ sales profit)<br \/>\nConsistently maximise branch gross profit through effective management of key gross profit drivers (e.g. sales and markdowns)<br \/>\nImplement and facilitate achievement of maximised budgeted sales of the branch<br \/>\nMaintain stock holding budget and stock ordering within required parameters<br \/>\nUpdate and guide Branch staff consistently on sales budgets and targets received from head office<br \/>\nMaintain 100% consistency and adherence to stock price changes<br \/>\nManage and maintain assets register within set regional parameters<br \/>\nTake corrective action to address sub-standard branch performance and update status report<br \/>\nBranch Proitability Reporting<\/p>\n<p>Provide timely and accurate reporting i.r.o:<br \/>\nProfit and Loss reports<br \/>\nStock holding number of days report<br \/>\nPurchase versus sales reports<br \/>\nWaste and damage reports<br \/>\nAdmin reports<br \/>\n6-monthly stock take reports<br \/>\nIdentify improvement opportunities and possible challenges (as per business intelligence report and other information sources), making recommendations for corrective action to proactively address these<br \/>\nMeeting Customer Expectations<\/p>\n<p>Maximise customer loyalty by creating a consumer-friendly environment through effective people and process utilisation<br \/>\nEnsure effective implementation and monitoring of company customer returns \/ complaints policy<br \/>\nResolve or refer all unresolved branch queries to Checkline within 24 hours<br \/>\nStock Availability Assurance<\/p>\n<p>Pro-actively plan, monitor and maintain consistent stock range availability and movement according to demand and making alternative arrangements for stock shortages, e.g. inter-branch transfers (IBTs)<br \/>\nProactively plan, communicate and implement stock promotions according to seasonal changes<br \/>\nOversee accurate 6-monthly stock taking process in line with company policy and procedures<br \/>\nHousekeeping and Compliance Assurance<\/p>\n<p>Comply with hygiene and housekeeping standards at all times<br \/>\nMaintain all equipment assets at all times as per company standards<br \/>\nConsistently adhere to audit and required legislative standards and statutory requirements i.r.o:<br \/>\nBranch inspections<br \/>\nEquipment checks (tills, refrigerators and freezers)<br \/>\nFood safety and hygiene standards<br \/>\nOHS Act standards<br \/>\nComply with alarm call-out policy<br \/>\nQualifications<br \/>\nGrade 12 or equivalent (essential)<br \/>\nRetail management diploma (desirable)<br \/>\nExperience<br \/>\nBranch management\/supervisory experience in retail environment (desirable)<br \/>\nExperience in Shoprite procedures (desirable)<br \/>\nKnowledge and Skills<br \/>\nDesirable knowledge and skills:<\/p>\n<p>Sales target budgeting<br \/>\nIn-store stock management<br \/>\nExpense budget planning and
