This role ensures the company adheres to applicable South African legislation and regulations, maintains certification standards, and continuously improves quality and safety processes throughout the value chain.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"description\" class=\"job-spec-field\">\n<div class=\"job-spec-value\">\n<div><u><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/u><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Assurance and Food Safety Management Systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC22000).<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with relevant South African food safety and quality legislation<\/li>\n<li>Manage internal and external audits (DAFF, export markets, third-party certification bodies).<\/li>\n<li>Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformances.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee microbiological and chemical testing programs to ensure product safety and compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Train and supervise QA\/QC staff to maintain a high standard of quality awareness across all departments.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with production, maintenance, and logistics teams to improve product consistency and quality.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain traceability systems and manage product recall and withdrawal procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor performance indicators such as customer complaints, process deviations, and audit findings.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of animal welfare<\/li>\n<li>Implement and maintain Quantum Lean Principles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><strong><u>Requirements<\/u><\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong>Education &amp; Experience:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree or diploma in Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years experience in Quality Assurance in a meat or pork processing environment.<\/li>\n<li>Proven knowledge and implementation of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and related food safety systems.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with South African and international food legislation and compliance auditing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Strong leadership and team management abilities.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Proficient in MS Office Suite and quality management software\/tools.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you do not receive any communication from us within two weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/eskort.com\/eskort-vacancies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apply Here<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced\u00a0Quality Manager\u00a0to join our team at the\u00a0Eskort-Manufacturing Plant in Heidelberg.
