PURPOSE STATEMENT:

To effectively manage all elements of the Brand Marketing mix and support the strategy of the brand within Southern Africa, to ensure that the Brand continues to maintain and grow its dominant position.

Duties & Responsibilities

MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Responsible for managing all elements of the Brand marketing mix & supports the strategy of the Brand.
  • Ensures implementation of annual Marketing Plan aligned to the 3-year strategic brand plan
  • Accountable for managing marketing budget.
  • Supervises marketing team, ensuring projects/campaigns are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement an annual marketing plan.
  • Manage the Marketing budget in relation to the marketing plan and performance.
  • Assume accountabilities for all national marketing activities above and below the line.
  • Management of advertising agency and marketing vendors.
  • Management of the media plan, ensuring that expenditure and brand objectives are delivered on.
  • Drive menu optimisation with regards to pricing strategy, menu mix and channel margin to sustainable GP’s and deliver value to the brand’s customer base.
  • Responsible for packaging development with support from the Product Manager.
  • Management of all consumer research to gain consumer insights that drive strategic decisions
  • Support the implementation of best practices within the team regarding marketing management and project management.
  • Co-ordinate and support the presentation of the brand’s Marketing plans at the National Conferences, National Franchise Forum (NFF) meetings and Regional Roadshows.
  • Development, maintenance and execution of the digital and social strategy.
  • Interface with Product, Procurement, Training, Operations, New Business & Regional teams.
  • Manage implementation of CRM strategies for the Brand, encouraging customer retention and customer loyalty.
  • Support in the preparation and present to EXCO, comprehensive quarterly Brand updates.
  • Ensure all Regional Marketing plans and Local Store Marketing (LSM) campaigns align with the Brand Strategy.
  • Develop and implement Marketing collateral in line with Brand CI.
  • Brief, review and present statistical analysis to assist with informed decision making.
  • Management of sponsorships and brand CSR initiatives where relevant.
  • Manage, develop and lead Brand Managers within the team.
  • Ensure all projects are financially feasibly based on business expectations.
  • Leads Brand Managers and collaborates with other brand teams that do not directly report to them.

Desired Experience & Qualification

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

FORMAL EDUCATION:

  • Completed Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Degree in Marketing Management or similar.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Senior Brand Manager/Marketing Manager level, preferably in the FMCG / retail / food franchising industry.
  • Experience in managing and leading successful teams.
  • Strong brand building and sales exposure accountability.
  • Management of budgets.
  • Intensive knowledge of the emerging market.
  • Understanding of menu, packaging and promotional point-of-sale design and aesthetics.

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
  • Highly numerate and computer literacy (inclusive of PowerPoint and Excel skills).
