Role Overview
Anna’s Kitchen, an upmarket restaurant in the Vaal Triangle, is looking for skilled Grillers to join our kitchen brigade. If you know your way around a hot grill, can hold a steak to the exact degree the guest asked for, and thrive under service pressure — we want to hear from you.
About the role
You will run the grill section, preparing steaks, ribs, chops, burgers, poultry, and seafood to a consistently high standard, working closely with the Head Chef and the rest of the kitchen team.
Key responsibilities
- Grill and prepare meat, poultry and seafood to the correct temperature, doneness and presentation standard
- Season, portion, and prepare for the grill section before each service
- Maintain plating and quality standards on every dish leaving the pass
- Work at speed and accuracy during peak service without compromising quality
- Manage grill stock levels, rotation (FIFO), and minimize wastage
- Keep the grill station and equipment clean and compliant with food safety and hygiene regulations
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Griller / Grill Chef in a restaurant or hotel kitchen (upmarket or à la carte advantageous)
- Solid understanding of meat cuts, doneness levels, and grilling techniques (flame grill/charcoal an advantage)
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
- Available to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Reliable transport or residing in or near the Vaal Triangle
- Grade 12 and/or a culinary qualification advantageous
- Contactable references required
