We are looking for a passionate and detail-driven Junior Food Safety Officer to join our team based at our Head Office in KZN, where you’ll play a key role in upholding our food safety standards across the region.
Purpose of the Role:
To support the Food Safety Officer in ensuring food safety compliance across Boxer’s operations, maintaining high standards in handling, preparation, and storage, and aligning with legislation to protect customer safety.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
National Diploma or 3-Year Degree in Food Science/Food Safety
Minimum 2 years’ food safety experience
Proficient in Excel and computer literate
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
Strong knowledge of food safety legislation (FDCA, HACCP, PAS96, PRP)
Familiarity with hygiene practices, procedures, and relevant systems
Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and conceptual thinking ability
Professional presentation and deadline-driven mindset
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of food safety policies
Help manage corrective actions and compliance from inspections
Support new store rollouts and retraining initiatives
Aid in evaluating risks from internal audits and peer reviews
Administer and update food safety documentation and systems (TRAC, BeSafe)
Conduct inspections and support third-party audits
Assist in food safety incident investigations and customer complaint resolution
Ensure training and corrective actions are followed through at store/DC level
