Experienced Chefs and Bakers
Introduction
We are seeking experienced Chefs and Bakers to join our growing restaurant and bakery team at our new Vereeniging store.
The successful candidates must possess a vibrant personality, strong cooking and/or baking skills and a passion for the food industry within the bakery environment. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and delivering to a consistently high standard of quality and presentation.
The opportunity will be ideal for a Candidate who is seeking growth within the hospitality field who has a culinary and/or baking background.
Duties & Responsibilities
Our Chefs are:
- Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch menu items
- Working efficiently in both hot and cold kitchen sections
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene standards and food safety regulations
- Following recipes to maintain consistency and quality
- Maintaining hygiene and presentation standards
- Upholding company standards in a busy kitchen environment
Our Bakers are:
- Preparing a wide variety of baked goods from scratch
- Working efficiently across bakery sections
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene standards and food safety regulations
- Following recipes to maintain consistency and quality
- Maintaining hygiene and presentation standards
- Upholding company standards in a busy kitchen environment
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements
- SA Citizen – with a valid ID document
- Minimum experience requirements:
- 3 + years’ experience in a bakery or restaurant kitchen.
- Experience with stock control and stock count.
- Able to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays.
Qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
- Certificate in Culinary, Confectionary or Baking would be advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
- Clean Criminal and credit record
- Contactable references
- Experience working in a Halaal food environment would be an advantage
- Strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans
