Purpose of the Job

Repairing of accident-damaged vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Read the job card/quotation to establish what work needs to be done
  • Check the vehicle against the job card/quotation and establish what parts are to be ordered
  • Check for additional damage
  • Order the necessary parts
  • Carry out repairs whilst maintaining the required high standards
  • Follow up on the parts ordered
  • Check that the parts ordered are correct and not damaged
  • Ensure that all parts to be painted go with the vehicle to the paint shop
  • Strip and assemble the vehicle
  • Make sure that all panel alignment and fitment of parts are correct
  • Recheck the entire job, make sure the work is done and is of a high standard
  • Do a physical check that the vehicle is roadworthy
  • Check the assistant’s work
  • Advise, assist, teach and manage the assistant
  • Liaise with the Foreman, Estimator, Manager
  • Drive cost savings – repair instead of ordering items where possible
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are looked after and kept in good working condition
  • Ensure that productivity and efficiency are at an acceptable standard
  • Maintain professional conduct
  • Assist in relevant operations/operational functions as required

Housekeeping

  • Work area should be clean and maintained tidy at all times

Health & Safety

  • Work involves looking after you and your colleague’s health and safety. It also involves working with dangerous goods
  • Ensure that all safety rules and regulations are conformed to

General

  • Ensure that you adhere to all company procedures and policies regarding: SOPs and Training, HR Policies, Dress Code, Smoking and Attendance
  • Assist with any other company requirements
 Minimum Requirements



  • Grade 12 (Matric)Matric (Grade 12)
  • Qualified Panel beater
  • Valid drivers license
  • Good communication skills
