A leading South African retail brand, Woolworths, is seeking an experienced Beauty Department Manager to lead and grow its in-store beauty division in the Western Cape.

Role Purpose: Beauty Department Manager
The primary purpose of this role is to maximise selling opportunities and deliver consistent, exceptional customer experiences while ensuring profitability. The Beauty Department Manager will lead the beauty team to meet and exceed sales targets, drive promotional success, and ensure efficient stock management and operational excellence.
This position requires a commercially minded retail leader who can balance sales growth, people management, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock Management & Loss Prevention
Implement strict stock management controls to minimise shrinkage and losses. - Monitor stock levels daily and ensure accurate inventory practices.
- Maintain compliance with store stock control policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership & Staff Development
Recruit, train, develop, and retain a competent and motivated Beauty Team. - Lead and inspire Beauty Consultants to meet sales targets and performance goals.
- Foster a positive team culture focused on customer satisfaction and performance excellence.
- Sales Performance & Target Achievement
Manage daily sales activities using agreed performance metrics.Monitor performance against targets and implement corrective actions when necessary. - Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies and customer engagement.
- Commission & Performance Management
- Manage the commission process in-store.
- Provide input into budgets and set realistic sales targets.
- Communicate targets clearly to Beauty Consultants and monitor performance outcomes.
- Promotions & Brand Partnerships
Maximise promotional sales through strategic planning and execution of promotions - Coordinate special events and campaigns with Beauty Brand Houses.
- Build strong working relationships with brand representatives to ensure promotional support.
- Store Operations & Strategic Input
Provide input into the Store Operating Plan. - Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and visual merchandising.
- Ensure the beauty department reflects brand standards and enhances the shopping experience.
Minimum Requirements
Technical & Professional Skills
Degree, diploma, or relevant qualification in retail, business, or beauty management.
Minimum 3–5 years retail leadership experience.
Minimum 3–5 years Beauty Department Manager retail experience.
Experience managing a beauty counter, beauty department, or beauty retail store.
Proven experience leading and managing Beauty Consultants.
