Phakisa Holdings is currently seeking a Cashier in the Lanseria area.
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for managing transactions, handling cash and electronic payments, and providing excellent service to our customers. You will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and pleasant dining experience for our guests.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Transaction Management: Accurately process cash and card transactions, issue receipts, and provide change to customers.
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, address their inquiries, and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner.
- Order Processing: Assist with order entry and ensure that all items are correctly listed and priced.
- Cash Handling: Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts and ensure accuracy in cash handling and reporting.
- Reporting: Prepare daily sales reports and ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Hygiene and Safety: Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashier station and follow health and safety regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient service.
- Customer Interaction: Provide information about menu items, specials, and promotions to enhance the dining experience.
- Problem Solving: Handle customer complaints and concerns effectively, escalating issues to management as needed.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a similar customer-facing role is preferred.
- Previous cashier experience / customer service experience
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Friendly and approachable demeanour with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Fast-paced restaurant setting, potential for standing for extended periods
Package & Remuneration
- R5500 – R6500 – based on experience
- Must reside in Lanseria area and willing to work weekends
- Full time positions/Dayshift only
