We are seeking a reliable and mature individual to join our team as a Driver/Warehouse Assistant.
This role is multifaceted and requires a candidate with a valid Code 10 driver’s license and experience operating various vehicles.
The successful candidate will split their time between driving deliveries and supporting warehouse operations, ensuring efficient logistics and customer satisfaction
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies
Plan and execute delivery routes, ensuring timely and efficient product distribution to clients
Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any mechanical issues or damage immediately
Securely load and unload goods, following proper handling procedures to prevent damage
Obtain proof of delivery (POD) signatures from clients and maintain accurate delivery records
Assist with receiving, storing, and picking inventory in the warehouse
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
Operate warehouse equipment if applicable
Assist with stocktaking and inventory control procedures
Pack and prepare orders for delivery, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with clients and colleagues
Work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager or Supervisor
Desired Experience & Qualification
Valid Code 10 driver’s license
Minimum of a Matric certificate
Minimum of 5 years’ experience driving various vehicles
Experience working in a warehouse environment
Knowledge of safe loading and unloading procedures
Strong understanding of basic stocktaking principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Good time management and organizational skills
Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks
A mature and reliable individual with a positive work ethic
