PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for assisting the Artisan, which may be as part of a learnership programme, to maintain and modify, install, and repair.
plant and machinery where necessary. May inspect plant or production area and report faults to the Artisan to assist in scheduling.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
· Assists in performing both planned and unscheduled mechanical maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimize.
· breakdowns and downtime.
· Performs housekeeping tasks during and after completion of assigned work.
· Fits, inspects, tests and repairs equipment, and carries out all mechanical maintenance work in collaboration with the artisan.
· Assists with installation and commission of machinery and equipment.
· Aligns and calibrates machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation.
· Assists in achieving all maintenance, housekeeping and safety objectives and principles.
· Adheres to all safety and operational requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
· Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4,
· Higher Certificate / NQF level 5,
· Valid driver’s licence
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
· Semi-skilled and discretionary
· decision making
