We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Spray Painter. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in applying paint and coatings to a variety of surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards. This role involves preparing surfaces, mixing paints, and applying coatings to achieve a professional and durable finish.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure a smooth and even application.
- Mix paints and other coatings according to specifications and ensure proper consistency and color.
- Use spray guns and other application tools to apply paint, lacquer, and other coatings to surfaces.
- Inspect painted surfaces for quality and consistency, making adjustments as necessary to meet standards.
- Follow safety procedures and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper ventilation techniques.
- Clean and maintain painting equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine painting requirements and ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and any issues encountered.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards.
- Stay updated with industry trends, techniques, and safety regulations to continually improve skills and knowledge.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Relevant certification or trade qualification in spray painting (e.g., Certificate III in Painting and Decorating).
- Proven experience as a spray painter in industrial, commercial, or residential settings.
- Proficiency in using spray guns, airbrushes, and other painting tools.
- Strong knowledge of paint types, mixing procedures, and application techniques.
- Ability to work from technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finishes.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in painting and coating applications.
- Grade12/Matric
- 3 Years experience
